New product: screen video
I published new small useful utility called “Screen Video”.
It can capture you screen to video-file. You can make some good tuning that manage output video quality: resolution, fps, bicubic scale and fade frames. You can read about screen video here.
Active Pixels 4 filters developing
Initiated the development of filters. New in the work of all filters will show changes in parameters in real time directly on the image like in professional photo editors. On this Active Pixels 4 filters requires the performance optimization. Already up and running first filter “Crystal Blur” – representing a simplified Gaussian Blur. This is a test filter, and it serves only for development of the technology, later, I probably will remove it.
Active Pixels 4 new undo engine
As I would like very long time ago, I finally wrote a new undo engine for Active Pixels. You can see the results on the chart. Figuratively speaking, it can be called “undo engine of the fourth generation.” It saves a lot of memory, especially noticeable when working with large photographs. Previously, even simple actions with large images required very large amounts of memory, now everything works much faster and more economical. In earlier versions undo engine is constantly modified, but the idea was unchanged. Now it works perfectly on another mechanism. In addition, if the rate of return of the image suddenly you not enough – you can increase the levels of cache and get the maximum speed, but with higher memory. Finally I can say that the active pixels undo engine does not yield to the best paid graphical editors and may be compared with them.

GREYCStoration algorithms in Active Pixels 4
GREYCStoration open source algorithms for image denoising and interpolation will work in Active Pixels.
With this algorithms you can:
- intellectual resize you image (it really better that simple bicubic!).
- apply very good image denoising techniques comparable for instance, Noise Ninja, Neat Image.

Active Pixels 4 from other sites warning ;)
Please do not download Active Pixels 4 from other sites. On other sites you’re likely to find older versions of programs, version of the program incorrectly listed and you risk download programs infected with viruses! Keep in mind that Active Pixels 4 now doesnt appear other places, and the first it will appear here on this site. I write this warning, because I see sites which write that they Active Pixels 4 available for download. This is not so, and even seeing a screenshot Active Pixels 4 – what you download – be different;)

There will be another cool moment in Active Pixels – it will support VISTA Icons with PNG compression. Also i already kills all bugs with icons and it masks. Sometimes AP2-3 open ico-files incorrectly, sometimes it ignores mask or alpha-channel or icon palette. Thats bugs already fixed.
As early version of AP you can use AP4 as powerful icon editor with full list of features – AP supports many frames with export-format tuning and alpha-channels in Icon. So in future you can throw your pay icon editor in the trash.

I decided to remove the link to Active Pixels 3.05 download. It was a bad release, it was a lot of bugs and poor performance. Skins worked very slow ..

Hello.
Color selector. Color selector in Active Pixels 4 was upgraded. Added new feature – you can limit colors by pallete. Later i will add powerful palette editor.
All that has been done. Written new undo/redo engine which will support macros (like actions in Adobe Photohop). Also small helpers windows and some instruments are already work.
Developing Active Pixels 4 …
Development of Active Pixels 4 was begun more than 2 months ago.
In this time the absolutely new Pixels interface was designed. It looks lite, but have nice possiblities.
A structure of the program completely was changed.
- The basic ini-file won’t be found any more next to the program itself. It will be in a folder presets.
- Active Pixels 4 will support any languages. The support of the languages will come true through the ini-files in a directory presets/languages. It will be possible to add the new languages independently, their number isn’t restricted.
- The start of Active Pixels 4 will be practically instantaneously.
- The program will be 50% less in size.
Nevertheless what Ap4 will be the else more functional than 3 version.

Active Pixels 4 – more stability
Come on many forums, I see that people are unhappy, especially the instability program. Many users of Active Pixels program does not work as hoped. The code Active Pixels 4 overwritten “from scratch”. It will be 100% new. I hope to correct any errors that exist in the program.
Active Pixels 4 plans for future
Hello, dear readers. Active Pixels 3 and higher is using new undo engine from early AP3 project. This engine is very memory economy, but a very buggy. I think to use old undo engine from AP2. This engine will work faster, but it more memory expensive. It will be more stability work with undo/redo in Active Pixels 4.
And also i want to delete skins, and use absolutely standart inteface. It will improve loading speed and small down AP4 exe-file size in 2 times. What do you think?

Hello! I decided do not publish fix pack 2, and publish complete new version. Active Pixels 3.04 include:
- Advanced convert to gray tool, you can set output brightness for red, yellow, green, aqua, blue and purple colors. Also you can select output hue and saturation. Can save and load settings.
- color quantization algorithm was improved and now its quality approached Photoshop.
- fixed many interface bugs and bugs with undo/redo.
- notes tool (which contained some free photos) and welcome screen were deleted.
- advanced pixel preview tool, with it you can move picture to any direction by one pixel, to get more sharpen image after it resize.
